Timberline Trail/Timberline Lodge
August 22nd, 2011 – Timberline Ridge/Lodge Trail
Time: 1 hour 15mins
Attendance: Me, Sage, Cheyenne
and Remington
Distance: 4.4 miles round trip
Difficulty: Super easy. Its all flat.
We did the
easy hike at the Timberline Ridge. From the parking lot to Zig Zag Canyon. This was our first hike with
Remington. He had a rough time paying attention for about the first mile, and
then he mellowed out some. By the end of the trail back, he was mellow. My
guess is that he could do a 5mile hike and be good. So I am going to stick with
that for awhile and see how he does. This trail was easy, flat and kept the
kids and dog entertained with the snow patches. It was also our first hike on
Mt Hood this year, and my first hike on the Timberline Ridge. Wow! The flowers
smelled absolutely gorgeous, Cheyenne
even mentioned we should take some home so that our house smells good. I say we
do that trail again but do the 12mile loop called Paradise
park. But I will try and be patient for the day the kids are up for that. :o)
notice Sage carrying the hiking book. He loved to read it during the hike.
Remington sure loved the snow.
Lots of patches of snow during august.
