Kicking butt, and taking names
These folks amaze me. 25miles they tackled, from bright wood climbing up the Barlow trail and back. Road closures, riding next to Semi trucks and steady climbs didnt stop them. Watching all of them grow into cyclists is a beautiful process.

Getting to put skills to use after they have been doing training rides, is a awesome to watch. The value of knowing your gears became apparent today. Getting to fly down some narly hills at to speed was a thrill, especially after they climbed them.

Right next to backpacking, this is my favorite merit badge to teach. Every single one of these people will walk away with tremendous knowledge about riding. These boys will tell there friends about road etiquette and safety. And many of them will go on longer rides again outside of this, because they know they can. They will no longer be able to say they can't, because they know they can.
