Mielie couldn't make this hike because of an injury to her eye, and Chey refused to hike with her...Well, we weren't going to miss an opportunity to hike. Even if it tried to rain us out..What was crazy is that it was raining at home, all the way to the trailhead. But it was dry at the trailhead and on the trail the entire time. 

Dry creek didn't disappoint. It's interesting to watch it's changed after the Eagle Creek Fire a couple years prior. A lot of the undergrowth had been burned but it's coming back. You can see houses through here you didn't know it existed. You can see the landscape you didn't know existed. through some of the area, the trees were thinned so much there's now undergrowth where they didn't use to be.

Our hike was a half a mile short of 5 miles so we hoofed it down the Gorge trail that shares the same trailhead. It's all about those miles. :) 

We met a Scoutmaster for a troop in East Portland and a woman who had both of her sons Eagle. Its always exciting to see scouting in the activities that we do.

We of course stopped at Eastwind and supported. Since our hike was just a conditioning hike I didn't have Ice Cream and chose a salmon burger instead of a cheeseburger.
